I remember when I was 10 that one day my Mom and I went to a shopping mall, and there I saw a purple-colored film camera with a removable flash displayed in a storefront. I liked it so much that I started to save money to buy it because it was way above my little budget at that age, about $40. When I finally bought it, I was so happy with it, and I was taking pictures of almost everything I saw. My childhood wild imagination drove me to believe that I had a top-notch machine that can stop time by a click of a button. With that camera, my passion for photography has started.
Later, after years of taking photos with simple film cameras, I decided to make that leap and buy a digital SLR. It was a Nikon D70. It was difficult for me, at the beginning however, to deal with an SLR camera as I never had tried one before. Yet, I was determined to know and master everything about it, so I read the manual entirely, bought a couple of books and downloaded loads of online materials. Few months later, I was able to take great photos. That camera opened new horizons for me regarding techniques, reliability, control, capabilities and creativity. By the first anniversary of having my Nikon, I had tried, and mastered, plenty of techniques. Some of them were relatively easy while others were insanely difficult, yet I had enjoyed every single moment I had spent with my camera. This is when my family and friends started to ask me to cover some events for them; I got the experience, and they got magnificent photos. From there I continued my exciting journey of photography using different DSLRs and various types of lenses.
In general, I like to photograph everything; landscapes, nature, animals, urban life, people, architecture and many more. I also like to try new techniques of photography no matter how hard they are, and I am keen to discover more of them. In fact, I am currently enrolled in a photography diploma course at the esteemed New York Institute of Photography beside my Master of Business Administration studies at the University of Toronto. This course is designed for digital photographers, and it covers all aspects of photography which gives photographers a boost to excel. I can fairly say that photography is essential to my life; something I can never abandon. The euphoria rushing through my body I feel every time I release the shutter of my camera is just so precious to give away.
